Our Purpose
Our purpose is for the preaching of the gospel, the administration of the ordinances of the New Testament, the nourishment of our members in the words of faith and of good doctrine, and the recognition of personal responsibility in respect to the Great Commission.
Statement of Faith
A. THE WORD OF GOD; We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts (II Timothy 3:16), written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
B. THE TRINITY: We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Luke 3:21 - 22)
C.GOD, THE FATHER: We believe in God, the Father, an infinite personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (I Corinthians 8:6)
D.JESUS CHRIST; We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, fully man and fully God, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His substitutionary death, blood atonement, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal, visible return to earth according to His promise. (John 1:1)
E. THE HOLY SPIRIT; We believe in the Holy Spirit who was sent forth from the Father and the Son, to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that as a member of the Triune Godhead, the personal Holy Spirit possesses all the attributes of deity. (I Corinthians 12:13)
F. REGENERATION; We believe that all persons are sinners by nature and by choice, and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in the shed blood of Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated.;
G.THE CHURCH; We believe in the universal church, a living, spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members; that the New Testament emphasizes the local church, consisting of a company of believers, baptized on a credible confession of faith, organized for worship, work and fellowship; that the local church has been commissioned by God to bring the gospel to a lost world.
H.CHRISTIAN CONDUCT; We believe that the Christian should live for the glory of God and the well-being of his fellowmen, and that his conduct should be blameless before the world. We believe that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions and that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ.
I. THE ORDINANCES; We believe that the Lord Jesus has committed two ordinances to the local church, baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe Christian baptism is to be encouraged after an individual has proclaimed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior by immersion of the believer in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. The Lord’s Supper should be open to all believers, regardless of denomination. We believe that the Lord’s Supper should be preceded by self-examination on the part of each person to make sure that he is in right fellowship with God and his fellow man.
J.RELIGIOUS LIBERTY; We believe that every person is directly accountable to God for himself; that each local church should be autonomous and free from ecclesiastical or political authority from the outside; that as citizens we should obey the law, pay our taxes, and pray for our leaders but that as church and state have separate functions, they should be kept separate, each fulfilling its duties free from dictation or patronage of the other.
K. CHURCH COOPERATION; We believe that local churches can often accomplish cooperatively things which they might not be able to accomplish individually. Associations of churches may exist to assist the local church in its mission. Therefore, cooperation with a religious body must be for the extension of ministry, is voluntary from the standpoint of the local church, and can be terminated by the local church. Churches may likewise cooperate with interdenominational fellowship on a voluntary and independent basis.
L. THE LAST THINGS; We believe in the personal, visible, premillennial, and imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, final judgment, the eternal well-being of the righteous, and the eternal suffering of the wicked.
